Martha St. Amant

Mrs. Martha St. Amant, 61, of Biloxi, MS, died Thursday, May 4, 2006, in Biloxi. Mrs. St. Amant was a native of Cotton Plant, MS and had been a longtime resident of the coast. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Mrs. St. Amant was a nurse for over 35 years, working at Biloxi V A Medical Center, Biloxi Regional Medical Center and the former Howard Memorial Hospital. She was a graduate of Hinds Jr. College and Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, Jefferson Davis Campus, where she graduated with honors from the nursing program. She enjoyed writing poetry, careing for people and being around her family and friends. Mrs. St. Amant was preceded in death by her son, Noah Lee St. Amant and her mother, Betty Hardy Hunter. Survivors include her husband, Bernard St. Amant, of Biloxi; Daughter, Michelle Cherie Godsey and her husband, Todd, of St. Martin; son, Joseph Elliott St. Amant and his wife, Allison, of Biloxi; her father, Robert N. Hunter of Gulfport; sisters, Mary H. Stallings and her husband, Thomas, of Madison, MS, Margaret H. Miller and her husband, Jerry, of Brandon, MS, and Marilynn E. Hunter of Ridgeland, MS; two grandchildren, Zachary Godsey and Hannah Godsey; niece, Jennifer L. Miller; nephews, Tommy Stallings, Hunter Stallings and Dale Stallings; great nieces, Mallory and Sidney Stallings; great nephew, Seth Stallings and beloved friend, Emmy Christian. Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 7, 2006, at 3 p.m. at the Pass Road Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi where friends may visit one hour before service time. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, May 9, 2006, at 10 a.m. at Biloxi National Cemetery.
