Martha Ann Dubaz Weaver, a lifelong resident of Biloxi, passed away on April 5, 2024. Born on October 2, 1941, Martha was a beacon of light in her community, known for her compassionate spirit and unwavering dedication to those she held dear.
Martha's journey was marked by love, resilience, and unwavering faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Cecile Andre’ Dubaz; her brother, John B. (Alice B.) Dubaz; and her sisters, Lucille Dubaz Griffey, Eunice Dubaz Phillips Conger, Beverly Dubaz Romeo and her first husband, Willard E. Helveston, Sr. Though they have gone before her, their memory lives on in the hearts of those who loved them.
Martha is survived by her beloved husband, Herman Wilson Weaver; her devoted son, Willard E. (Bella) Helveston, Jr.; her cherished daughter, Marla J. (Tami) Helveston; her sister, Lillian Dubaz Pierce; her stepsons, Jeffrey Preston and Gary Weaver; and her stepdaughters, Peggy Kousek and Gaynell Ladner. Martha also leaves behind a number of step grandchildren including a treasured grandson, JJ Ladner, who brought immeasurable joy into her life. Their love and support sustained Martha throughout her life, and their memories will continue to be a source of comfort in the days ahead.
A graduate of Sacred Heart Academy, Martha exemplified a steadfast commitment to education and personal growth throughout her life's journey. Beginning as one of the original switchboard operators at Bell South in Biloxi, she embarked on a remarkable career. With each passing year, Martha's dedication and talents propelled her forward at Bell South, leading to significant advancements and achievements. Her enduring contributions and positive influence touched the lives of many, leaving an indelible mark on both her career and community.
Martha's legacy of love and kindness will forever be remembered by those who were fortunate enough to know her. Though she may no longer walk among us, her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us each day.
Visitation will be on Thursday, April 11, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM followed by an 11:00 AM service at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home on Howard Avenue in Biloxi. A private family burial will be held in loving memory of Martha.
Martha Ann Dubaz Weaver will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in eternal peace, knowing that she was loved beyond measure and that her memory will forever be cherished.
