Martin Thompson Bullock, Jr.

SFC Martin T. "Sarge" Bullock, Jr., US Army Retired, 82, of Biloxi, MS passed away on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 in Biloxi. He was born in Meridian, MS on March 5, 1928 but made life and home in Biloxi, MS. Martin attended St. Aloysius Catholic Academy and St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Meridian, MS as a child before joining the US Army. He proudly served during World War II and in the Korean Conflict. Martin enjoyed traveling the world throughout his career, with Korea and Germany being among his favorite places. After retirement, he returned to Meridian and operated a lawnmower service and a shooting gallery. He established USA At-Large and A-1 Corp. Sales and Services. He moved to the Gulf Coast where he continued to enjoy his lifelong passions of repairing lawnmowers, flea-marketing and became co-owner of the Little Weveek New & Used of Biloxi, MS. Martin was a member of the Disabled Veterans of America, American Legion and VFW D'Iberville Post #6731. Martin's greatest joy was to help others. Martin is preceded in death by his parents, Martin Thompson Bullock and Estelle Semmes; his former wife, Sigrid D. Knute; brother-in-law, Joe C. May and his longtime friends, Vernon and Beth Pruitt. He is survived by his children, Luise Sigrid Bullock and Phillip Steven Bullock of Stockbridge, GA; sisters, Louise Findley Blackwell (Leon) of Mobile, AL, Mollie Theresa Bullock May of Saucier, MS; brothers, Thomas Edward Bullock of Jacksonville, TX, Albert Monroe Bullock of Gulfport, MS; tweleve nieces and nephews; many great and great-great nieces and nephews and longtime friends and caregivers, Tammy Pruitt of Biloxi, MS, Horace "Julio" Eley of Woolmarket, MS, Stacy and Wade Lasister of Biloxi, MS and Lars Johnston of Gulfport, MS. The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Biloxi VA Medical Center, Biloxi Regional Medical Center and Amedisys. Memorial contributions may be made to: American Cancer Society, 417 Security Square, Gulfport, MS 39507. Visitation will be on Monday, January 3, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Both will be held at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Biloxi. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery with full military honors.
