Mrs. Mary Ann Ellis Chapman, 62, of D'Iberville, MS, died Friday, May 11, 2007, in D'Iberville. Mrs Chapman was born in Columbus, MS and had been a a resident of the coast since 1978. She attended church at Protestant Chapel 2 on Keesler AFB and had been employed with civil service at Keesler for 28 years in supply. She was a former employee with the Social Security Administration. She was a dedicated military wife having traveled to Germany, Norway, France and numerous assignments in the United States. Mrs. Chapman was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester (Lula Mae Tucker) Ellis and a sister, Emma Jean Edwards. Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Jimmie Chapman, Sr.; two daughters, Kimberly Chapman and Winifred Smith and her husband, Brian, Sr., both of Atlanta, GA; a son, Jimmie Chapman, Jr. and his wife, Norma J., of Powder Springs, GA; four sisters, Betty Tabb, Carrie Foard and her husband, Marvel, Josie Morgan and her husband, Corzell, and Geraldine Jones and her husband, Carter; two brothers, Sylvester Ellis, Jr. and Julius Ellis and his wife, Joyce; five grandchildren, Brittany, Sieve, Brian, Jr., Brianna, and Michael; one step-granddaughter, Lonaisha; many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Visitation is Wednesday, May 16, 2007, from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel where friends may visit one hour before service time. Interment will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery.
