Mary Elizabeth Baum

Mary Elizabeth Baum, 72, of North Biloxi, MS, passed away Monday, June 27, 2022, with her husband and daughter by her side.

Mary was born on December 10, 1949, in Biloxi, MS to Irma and William Barrett.  She was a graduate of Sacred Heart Girls High School, and she married her husband of 51 years, Archie “Frankie” Baum, III, in May 1971.  Mary was a wonderful wife, mother to Else’, and grandmother to Megan and Justin.  For several years Mary operated a daycare in her home.  To the many babies she loved and cared for, she was known as Mama Mary.  She is of the Catholic faith and was a lifelong parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in d’Iberville.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, William and Irma Barrett and her brother William “PeeWee” Barrett.

Mary is survived by her loving family, husband Archie; her only daughter, Else’ (Bruce) Marie Jr. of Biloxi; and her grandchildren, Megan Marie and Justin Marie.  Mary is also survived by two siblings, Adele (Herman) Roberts and Cheryl Barrett; her sisters-in-law, Cherylin Barrett and Elizabeth Baum; and her brother-in-law, Dale Baum.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday July 1, 2022, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in d’Iberville. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at d’Iberville Memorial Park.
