Mary Margaret Braswell Fairbanks

Mary Margaret Braswell Fairbanks, age 63, passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2023.

Mary left this world too soon. She was a loving daughter, mother, and dedicated nurse who graduated from the Capstone College of Nursing at the University of Alabama and received her Master’s degree from Liberty University. She devoted 30 years to helping veterans through care in the VA Hospital.

She is survived by her husband, Michael W. Fairbanks; parents, Dr. T.R. and Lucy Deason; sisters, Janet Estrada (Chuck) and Carole Deason; daughters, Angela Sparks, Mary Elizabeth Williams-Murphy (Cliff), Lee Strickland (Robert); and grandchildren, Chris Redick (Kayla), Graham Murphy, Katlyn Stout, Rodnie Strickland, Wesley Strickland, James Stout, Carmen Stout, Amelia Strickland, Logan Fairbanks (Cassidy), Landon Fairbanks, and Liam Fairbanks; and great-grandson, Ezra Sullivan.

Mary was preceded in death by her brother, Walter E. Braswell; son, Joseph Fairbanks; and many beloved fur babies.

A prayer service will be held at 5:00 PM on Monday, July 24, 2023, at the Bradford-O’Keefe Ocean Springs Chapel. Friends may visit from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
