Mary Alice Campbell

Mary Alice Campbell, Age 77 Of Gulfport died on Friday, February 28, 2014, our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Mary Alice Campbell, took her last breath and was present with the Lord feeling no more pain. She passed away at her home surrounded by family and friends. She was born to Jesse Dennis and Jessie Creel Dennis on June 28, 1936 in Ovett, MS. Her parents preceded her in death as did her siblings Clotteal Hayes, Myrtle Pruitt, and Leon Dennis. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, W.K. (Kerney) Campbell. Survivors include her children, Deborah Mauffray (Verlon) from Pass Christian, MS, C. Bonita Campbell and W. Ferrer Campbell from Gulfport, MS; her grandchildren, Joseph Mauffray (Natalie) from Wiggins, MS, Lisa Freret (David) and Erika Necaise (Paul) from Pass Christian, MS; great-grandhildren, Dalton and Hannah Freret, Jansen, Anna-Katherine and Jacksen Mauffray, and Claire and SaraAnne Necaise; and her sisters Retha Hutchingson from Perkinston, MS, Ruth Buras from LaCombe, LA and Eleanor Richardson from Gulfport, MS and a host of nieces and nephews. Alice was loving, caring and talented. She was always doing for others. God blessed her with many talents, including being an expert seamstress, caterer, cake decorator, florist, carpenter and cook. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 4 at 4:00 for family and from 5:00 to 8:00 pm for family and friends at Divine Grace Baptist Church in Long Beach, MS. The funeral service will be Wednesday, March 5 at 11:00 am at the church which is located at 5570 Red Creek Road. Interment will be in Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens, Long Beach, MS. Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, O'Neal Rd. Gulfport is in charge of arrangements.
