Mary Ruth Champiomont

Mrs. Mary Ruth Champiomont, age 79, of Ocean Springs, MS, died Thursday, September 20, 2012, in Ocean Springs. Mrs. Champiomont was a native of Tennessee and a resident of Ocean Springs since 1976. She was a member of the Masters Gardening in Ocean Springs, volunteered at the Ocean Springs Nursing Center, worked at Fraziers Nursery, and was a substitute teacher in the Ocean Springs and D'Iberville School Systems. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Biloxi. Mrs. Champiomont was preceded in death by her parents, Leona and Johnny Bishop and a grandson, Jonathan Champiomont. Survivors include her husband, Gale Champiomont, daughter, Karen Champiomont, son, Michael Champiomont and granddaughter, Constance Champiomont, all of Ocean Springs. Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 26, 2012, from 11:00 to 12:30 p.m., with an 12:30 p.m. chapel service, all at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery.
