Mary Cynthia Locke Blair, an elementary teacher for 44 years, died Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at the age of 79, in Vancleave.
Cynthia was born in Wiggins, MS on February 10, 1934. She graduated from Wiggins High School and received her BS and Masters from the University of Southern Mississippi. Cynthia was a member of Vancleave United Methodist Church.
Cynthia is preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Maude Locke; and her brother, Col. (Ret.) J.C. Locke.
Her survivors include her husband of 62 years, Dr. Victor J. Blair of Vancleave; her daughter Sylvia (Bruce) Davis of Wiggins; her son, John (Jackie) Blair of Vancleave; her grandson, Johnny (Sheila) Blair of Vancleave; her granddaughters, Amanda (Steve) Morgan of Houma, LA and Jami (Steven) Smith of Oceanside, CA; her five great-grandchildren; and her sister-in-law, Eva Merle Locke.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made in Cynthia’s name to one’s favorite charity.
A Memorial Service will be held at Vancleave United Methodist Church on Friday, November 15, 2013 at 1:00 p.m.
The Vancleave Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
