Mary "Rita" Davis

Mary “Rita” Davis, age 70, of Ocean Springs, MS, passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2020. She was born in Fayette, AL and a resident of Ocean Springs, MS for 45 years. Rita was a graduate of Charles School of Cosmetology and worked as a barber with her partner in crime, Dennis Frazier, at Dennis Stylemasters for 43 years. She loved her family, job, and the customers she served. When she wasn’t working or traveling with her cousin Wanda, she and Kathy at Shelton’s were designing her latest piece of bling. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Alvin Watkins and Mary Verna Watkins, husband, Charles Davis, and her granddaughter, Meghan Meyers. She is survived by her son, Brian (Malea) Parker (Vancleave, MS), daughter, Lynette Meyers (Ocean Springs, MS), Step-sons, James (Missy) Davis Frankfort, IN, Chuck (Valerie) Davis, 13 Grandchildren: Joshua Dye, Brian Parker Jr, Dylan Meyers, Walter (Kelsi) Neese, Kaylah (Chandler) Miceli, Wade Neese, Allie (Austin) Virden, Jordan Davis, Marina (Jeffrey) Jones, Dallas Davis, Levi Davis, Ashley Davis, Kat Davis, 5 Great-Grandchildren: Pyrrha Dye, Christopher Miceli, Kinleigh Miceli, Sawyer Neese, Jeffery Jones lll, brother Steve (Jan) Watkins and sister, Gayle (Kevin) Thompson. The family would like to thank the MICU medical staff at Singing River Hospital for the care they provided for our mother. A celebration of life will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home. Friends may visit 2 hours prior to service. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made to Meghan’s Dream Inc. or a charitable location of your choice. The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
