Mary Dean Skinner

Mary Dean Skinner, 78, of Biloxi, MS died onWednesday, January 19, 2011. Mrs. Skinner was a retired teacher of St. Martin Elementary and Middle School where she taught for 38 years. During her years as a teacher she touched the lives of many children. She was teaching her third generation when she retired. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She selflessly raised her two daughters on her own following the unexpected death of her husband many years ago. Mrs. Skinner is preceded in death by her husband, Manuel R. Skinner, parents, Emmette Thomas and Doris Rester; sister, Darla Skipper; brother, Henry (Rudy) Thomas and Mark Thomas. She is survived by her daughters, Janet (David) Meinke and Tina (Carl) Bishop; grandchildren, Christopher Williams and Jacob Bishop. Visitation will be on Friday, January 21, 2011 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 22, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. Both will be held at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Biloxi. Interment will follow in D'Iberville Memorial Park.
