Mrs. Mary Dianne Ryan, 65, passed away Saturday, October 11, 2008, after a long fight with Cancer. Dianne was preceded in death by her parents, Chris and Ethel Mae Christensen, and her little brother, Herbie. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Ed Ryan; two daughters, Belenda Ryan and Michelle Godlewski and her husband, Joseph, all of Biloxi; two brothers, Bubba (Millie) Christensen of Saucier, and Michael Rae Christensen of Pearl River County, MS; one sister, Dorothy Aucoin of Pearl River, LA; three grandchildren, Brendon Ryan, Joshua Godlewski and Natalie Godlewski. Dianne was a lifelong resident of Biloxi. She was a member of the Biloxi Elks Lodge No. 606, the Fleur de Lis Ladies Auxiliary, VFW Post No. 1244 Ladies Auxiliary, and an active supporter of American Legion Post 33. Dianne cherished her time with her family, especially her three grandchildren. She volunteered much of her time to her community and touched many lives with her caring and giving. She is now in a better place and out of pain. The family would like to give special thanks to the wonderful Oncology staff at Biloxi Regional Medical Center. Their special care and love for Dianne added extra months to her life and will never be forgotten. Also thanks to the many friends and organizations who supported her during her battle, especially those who sponsored benefits in her honor; Biloxi French Club, Gulf Coast Musicians Association, VFW Post No. 6731, the American Legion Post No. 33, and the many individuals who made her time here much brighter. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 417 Security Square, Gulfport, MS 39507. Visitation is Tuesday, October 14, 2008, from 5 until 7 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue, in Biloxi. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Entombment will folow in Southern Memorial Park.
