Mrs. Mary Emma Tanner, of Ocean Springs, MS., died Thursday, January 15, 2009, one day after celebrating her 80th birthday.
Mrs. Tanner was very passionate about her faith and was a member of the Gulf Coast Seventh Day Adventist Church. She was a loving, caring mother, grandmother and sister. She also had many special friends including an extended church family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Tanner, Sr.; parents, John R. and Mary M. Fox; four brothers, Alvin, John, Billy and Glenn Fox; and a grandson, Paul Galle, Jr.
Survivors include three daughters, Emily Wescovich, Judy Galle and Marilyn Seymour; three sons, James Tanner, Jr., John and Alva Tanner; a sister, Mary Hilderbrand; two brothers, Lester and Roland Fox; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Sunday, January 18, 2009, from 5-7 p.m. with a 7 p.m. chapel service, at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. Burial will be on Monday, January 19, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at Crestlawn Memorial Park in Ocean Springs.
The family would like to extend a heartful thankfulness to Dr. Eva Magiros, Dr. Clarkson, Dr. Butcher and the many special nurses who participated in her care.
