Mary Jane Farr

Mary Jane Farr, age 91, of Gulfport passed away Saturday, July 11, 2015. She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Farr Kenny of Minneapolis, MN (Susan Wood) and her granddaughter, Kathy Lyn Grimes (Carl Ronald Grimes, Jr.); and three great-grandchildren, Autumn Elizabeth, Elijah Conner, and Adeline Grace Grimes. She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, John Edwin Farr. After a busy career and family life traveling for the navy and the Federal Aviation Agency, they made their home together at the Armed Forces Retirement Home since the mid 1980’s. She served in the U.S. Navy during WWII where she worked as secretary to the Personnel officer from 1944 until Armistice. She is also predeceased by her two sons, John Edwin Farr, Jr. and Jerrold Allen Farr. Funeral services were provided by Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport. She was interred at the National Cemetery in Biloxi on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at 10 AM with US Navy honors. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s organization.
