Mary Joyce Forbes, 92, of Biloxi, MS passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2024 in Philadelphia, MS.
Mrs. Forbes was born in Biloxi on November 20, 1931. She lived in Biloxi until after Hurricane Katrina. Mrs. Forbes retired from the Grand Casino. She was an avid seamstress and loved to cross stitch and do crossword puzzles. Mrs. Forbes was a member of the Fleur de Lis Society in Biloxi.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald L. Forbes, Sr.; her son, Jack Steven Forbes; her parents, Leroy E. Helton, Sr. and Sophie Wagner Helton; and her brothers, Ralph Helton and Leroy Helton, Jr.
Mrs. Forbes’ survivors include her sons, Gerald Lee (Cindy) Forbes, Jr. and Ted (Brigitte) Forbes; her daughter, Kay Forbes Williams of Philadelphia, MS; her grandchildren, Shawn Marie Williams, Jeffrey Scott Williams, Sarah McCarthy, Stephanie Rosenbaugh, Steven Forbes, Cody Forshee, Gavin Beaugez, Gabrielle Forbes, Sawyer Forbes, Scarlet Kay Forbes, Landon Forbes and Jack David Forbes; and her great-grandchildren, Abby McCarthy, Micah Rosenbaugh, Kelton Forbes, Amiah Williams, Kylie Lynn Jacobs, Layla Forbes, Jackson Rosenbaugh, Ethan Rosenbaugh and Rhett Forshee.
The family would like to thank Betsy Mann Oschners-Rush and Quality Hospice Care for all of the support and care during this time for our mother/grandmother.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Nativity BVM Cathedral on Howard Avenue in Biloxi on Monday, July 15, 2024 at 11:00 am. Friends may visit from 10:00 am until Mass time. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
