Mary Frances Butera, 88, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her children on Monday, January 2nd. Known by all as “Mother”, she was born and lived all her life in D’Iberville, MS. A woman of great faith, her legacy is leaving behind a large and loving family and many friends.
Mary Frances was preceded in death by her husband Guy Tom Butera, her parents Arnot and Selma Smith, her sister Elsie Trochessett, and brother Roy Lee Smith.
She is survived by her brother William A. Smith, his wife Linda, and their family and cousins, Pat and Louise Murphy and Walter and Donna Murphy. She is also survived by her 6 children: daughter Tana Bradley and husband George, son Tom Butera and wife Peggy, daughter Jean Gipson and husband Jerry Wigginton, son Pete Butera Sr. and wife Ceil, daughter Donna Butera and husband Amedee Smith, and daughter Christina Minter and husband Philip.
She is loved and cherished by her 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren: George Bradley Jr, wife Lori and their 3 sons; Glen Bradley, wife Heather and their son; Matthew Bradley, wife Liz and their 2 sons; Thomas Butera; Mary Butera; Kelly Spinner, husband Ivan and their 2 sons and daughter; Chris Gipson, wife Tanya and their 2 sons; Pete Butera Jr., wife Stacey and their son and daughter; Aimee Peterman; Lex Butera-Smith; Sal Butera-Smith; Megan Minter; and Caroline Minter.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 6, 2012, at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 675 Howard Avenue, in Biloxi where friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow in Biloxi City Cemetery.
