Mary Virginia “Ginger” Oxford, 59, of Biloxi passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2011, in Ocean Springs after a short battle with cancer. Now in God’s hands, she remains in our hearts.
Born into an Air Force family on March 24, 1952 in Denver, Colorado, Ginger lived in South Dakota, Georgia, Alabama, Pennsylvania, and Morocco before moving to Ocean Springs in 1968. A 1970 graduate of St. Martin High School, she retired from the Biloxi VA Medical Center.
More than a sister and aunt, but also a kind and generous good friend, she leaves behind to cherish her memory sisters Vickie McAuley and Donna Marie Klish, her “Bro” John Klish, niece Lauren Marie Landry, and great niece Autumn Marie Landry, all of Ocean Springs.
She is preceded in death by her father and mother Don David Oxford and Eunice Lloyd McInnis Oxford.
Courageous to the end, Ginger made all decisions about her final care, relieving her family of that burden.
The family acknowledges the compassionate care provided by her doctors and the staff of Ocean Springs Hospital.
Visitation with a memorial service will be held Tuesday, September 6, 2011, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Ocean Springs.
