Mary Catherine Bertucci Holliman, age 92, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2017. She was born in Biloxi on December 2, 1924 to John J. and Ada B. Ates Bertucci.
Catherine was a lifelong resident of the Gulf Coast and a 1942 graduate of Sacred Heart Academy. During World War II she was one of the “Rosie the Riveters” working on planes at Keesler Field. Catherine was a great lady, and part of the Greatest Generation. She was an avid animal lover, especially her horses.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy W. Holliman, Sr.; and her brothers and their spouses, Edward (Elsie) Bertucci and Anthony (Dorothy) Bertucci.
Catherine is survived by her daughter, Mary Darlene (Jimmy) Cook; her grandchildren, Gregory Cook, Joseph Cook and Jessica (Joel) Bush; her great-grandchildren, Christopher Adams, Cody Cook, Anthony Cook, Chase Cook, Ethan Bush and Xander Bush; her great-great-grandchild, Jace Adams; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 20, 2017 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 10:00 am at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 6705 Jim Ramsay Road, Vancleave, MS with visitation from 9:00 am until mass time. Interment will follow at Biloxi City Cemetery.
