Mary Helen Honea

Mary Helen Honea, age 94, of Grand Bay, AL and formerly of Ocean Springs, MS, passed away on Thursday, March 4, 2021. Helen was born in Yazoo City, MS on September 24, 1926. She attended schools in Satartia, MS, then married Woodrow Honea, and had 41 wonderful years before he passed away in 1991. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, daughter, Mary Gail Nelson, brother, Richard Martin and sister, Bessie Nell Russum. Survivors include her son, Mike (Starr) Honea, a sister, Georgie Batton, five grandchildren, Brian (Tina) Nelson, Sean Nelson, Ashley (Clifford) Calloway, Alyssa (Eric) Formolo and Amanda (Michael) Pittman and eleven great-grandchildren. Visitation will be on Monday, March 8, from 11am ~ 12 pm, at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home, followed by a 12:30 pm graveside service in Crestlawn Memorial Park.
