Mary Jane Kellermann Shipman born August 22nd, 1949, in Biloxi, MS passed away on Monday, February 27, 2006 in St. Louis, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her father, Carl Kellermann, Sr. She is survived by her three children, Darney James Derouen II and wife Donna; Chantal Derouen Krause and her husband, David; Dwayne Joseph "Doobie" Derouen and his wife, Lori; her mother, Norma Kellermann, her sister Gloria Kellermann, brother Carl "Kelly" Kellermann, Jr., and sister April Chesness; her eight grand children, Morgan and Austin Derouen, Skyler, Torey, Bryson and Maddex Krause, and Blake and Hannah Derouen. She is also survived by her godmother, Patricia "Pat" Harry, and many nieces and nephews.
Mary loved to celebrate life. But it wasn't until her children were grown that she found what she really loved to do - to fly. She became an attendant first for Reno Air, then American Airlines, and she flew around the nation. She saw many places, but she always came home for Mardi Gras.
Mary died on Monday morning, the day before she and her sister Gloria were to fly down for Mardi Gras. How appropriate that she left this world the day before her favorite holiday. How natural for her to take her final flight before Fat Tuesday.
So now we ask you Mary, our mom, daughter, sister, and friend, to save a place for us, to wait for us, when the angels parade.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, March 1, 2006 at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 2:30pm, where friends may visit one hour prior to service time. Burial to follow in Biloxi City Cemetery.
