Mary Gloria Jordan, 87, ascended to the arms of her Lord on Thursday, August 10, 2023, at her home in Gulfport, MS. Mary, known as Gloria to her friends was born and raised in Point Cadet Biloxi, Mississippi.
She left Biloxi in the 1950's and moved to Anchorage, Alaska with her two children to join with her husband who was serving in the Army at that time. She worked as a teller at the International Airport Bank. Upon returning to the Coast, Mary and her family settled in Gulfport where she was a bank administrator and an active church member at St. John the Evangelist. She enjoyed her love of music by singing in the choir. An avid reader, a collector of antiques and gemstones. She enjoyed traveling and loved her Country.
She is preceded in death by her father William K Skinner; mother, Lucille Gonsoulin Skinner; her husband, Lee O. Jordan; sister, Elda Williams (Jim); brother, Raymond Skinner (Joyce); grandson, Austin Seth Jordan.
Mary is survived by her two children, Deborah Lee Jordan Sackett (William) and Lance L. Jordan of Gulfport, MS; 5 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 5 great great-grandchildren and her loyal Labrador dog, Daisy.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, August 17, 2023, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Gulfport, MS. Visitation at 9:00am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am. Interment will be at the Biloxi Cemetery following the memorial service.
