Mary Ellen Kenyon

Mary Ellen Kenyon, age 79, passed away peacefully February 9th, 2021 in Biloxi, MS with family by her side. Mary was born April 12th, 1941 in Biloxi to Harold 'Kid' Lamey and Josephine 'Josie' Lamey. She was a lifelong resident of D'Iberville and grew up along Back Bay with a large extended family. She loved fishing and enjoyed a wonderful life on the Gulf Coast. Mary's many fishing trips to Chandelier Island were some of her happiest stories. Her joys in life were her family and friends, cooking fabulous meals, living near the water, and doing for friends and strangers alike. She loved meeting people. She and Joe loved traveling and visited many states and countries. She worked in the Electrical Supply Warehouse at Ingalls Shipbuilding and enjoyed a long happy retirement. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, sister Dorothy, and her husband Joseph W. Kenyon, Jr. She is survived by children George (Joy) McAllister, Jr., James (Nancy) McAllister, and Jeffrey (Cindy) McAllister, sisters Mellie Shofner and Katie (Kirk) Kennedy, Brother-in-Law David Kenyon, grandchildren Jeremy, Jania, Jill, Sarah, Kelsi, Jacob, Austin, Nick, and Anne Marie; and many great grandchildren. Mary was loved by all and will be missed by her large family and friends everywhere. Our family would like to recognize the special care given to Mary from the staff at Bay Cove Memory Care. We also want to recognize the love and attention given generously from Tracy Ladner and Annie Holbrook. A celebration of Mary's life will be held in April in honor of her 80th birthday. Rest in Peace Mom, we love you. Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home is honored to serve the Kenyon family.
