Mary Helena "Lena" Marinovich Newman, 91, of Biloxi, MS, passed away Friday, June 3, 2011 in Biloxi. The Lord cares deeply when his loved ones die. Psalm 116:15 A lifelong resident of Biloxi, she was a loving wife, parent, grandparent, great grandparent, also an accomplished seamstress, cook and gardener. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Willard A Newman; her parents, Mateo "Mike" and Margaret T. Misko Marinovich; and her siblings, Steve and Toney Marinovich and Rita M. Baudry. She is survived by her sons, Willard M. (Nancy) Newman and Michael A. Newman; daughter, Darlene N. (Fred) Hartmann; grandchildren, Vicky N. (Jimmy) Mouch, David (Sharon) Newman, Mara M. (Patrick) Hartmann Hicks, and Heather H. (Henry) Furr; great grandchildren Madison Newman, Christo Hicks, Isabella and Campbell Furr and a large extended family. The family wishes to express their thanks to family friend Dean Wise, Dr. Benjamin Skelton, his staff, and Biloxi Regional Hospital for the care of their mother. A celebration of her life will be at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church Wednesday, June 8, 2011 where friends may visit from 9 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am. The rosary will be said preceding the Mass. Interment will follow in Biloxi City Cemetery. Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue, in Biloxi is in charge of arrangements. Her devotion to Mary, the mother of God, was a lifelong commitment. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial contributions given to Deanna Favre's Favre 4 Hope, 1 Willow Bend Drive, Hattiesburg, MS 39402.
