Mary Lois Bertrand

Mrs. Mary Lois Bertrand, 85, of Biloxi, MS, died July 25, 2009, at River Chase Village in Gautier. She was born Mary Lois Pierce in Union, MS on April 15, 1924. She married Karl Bertrand, Sr. and they operated a bakery in Philadelphia, MS, prior to moving to the Gulf Coast in 1956. She retired from Godchaux's Department Store. Mrs. Bertrand is survived by three children, Ginny (Charlie) Taylor and Janie (Danny) Guice, of Ocean Springs, and son Karl (Roberta) Bertrand, Jr. of White Plains, NY; seven grandchildren and three great-grandsons. Mary Lois was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Karl, and oldest daughter, Mary Karlene Campbell. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of River Chase Village for the care and compassion they provided. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 28, 2009, at 10 a.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 2511 Pass Road, in Biloxi where friends may visit one hour before service time. Interment will follow at Southern Memorial Park.
