Mary Nan Spear

Mrs. Mary Nan Spear, 85, of Gulfport passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday evening, September 7, 2006. She courageously fought cancer for four years. Mary Nan Spear, formerly Mary Ann Roberts, was a well-known athlete in track at Gulfport High in her day. She held several state records that were unbroken for several years. She had a love for life, travel, children, and reading. She is survived by her sister, Bert Lee Owen of Gulfport, her four children, Jeannie Medlin of Pensacola, Rebecca Boone of Daphne, AL, Don McPheron of Gallatin, TN, and Bill McPheron of Palo Alto, CA, four grandchildren and two great grand daughters. She will be greatly missed for her kindness, generosity, and enthusiasm for life. There will be a private family service held in Gulfport. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her name to the American Cancer Society, 417 Security Square, Gulfport, MS 39507 Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, O'Neal Road, Gulfport, is in charge of arrangements.
