Mary Jo Newman

Mary Jo Newman, 69, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2014. Mary Jo was a lifelong resident of Biloxi. Most may remember her as a retail manager in various stores along the coast, including Gayfers Dillard’s, McRae’s and Belk. She was a loving, caring and generous person who was always giving to anyone in need. Her many interests included a love of cooking, sewing, bird watching and collecting Disney Memorabilia. Mary Jo enjoyed quality time with her family which included her two Shelties, Maggie and Duchess. Mary Jo was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Helen Newman; and her sister, Ruth Barattini. She is survived by her sister, Paula Lusk; several nieces, grandnieces and grandnephews. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 17, 2014 at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, where friends may visit 2 hours before the service.
