Mary Ruth Park

Mary Ruth Park, 85, of Ocean Springs, MS passed away Monday, March 27, 2017, in Ocean Springs. Mary was born and raised in Columbus, Georgia by Howard and Lois Davis. She had two brothers and two sisters. At the age of 15 Mary met and fell in love with her Prince Charming George Allen Park a dashing young Private. They married and her Prince became her husband, they had 3 children, Joseph, Allen, George Hardy and Maryjane. Her husband George was in the Army and would have to leave on maneuvers and war. Mary would stay behind and protect their home and raise the children. After 21 years of keeping George’s uniform starched, boots shined and medals polished, packing up and relocating the children, her husband retired and relocated their family to Biloxi, Ms. Mary lovingly took care of George for 58 years until his death. She raised their children and was the rock of the family. She loved her husband and family and would reminisce about the old times. She devoted her life to her husband and family. Who was Mary Ruth Park? She was a wonderful woman that will always be remembered by her family and friends and they will always carry her in their hearts. She was also preceded in death by her son: Joseph Allen Park Her survivors include, Son: George “Butch” Park (Constance), Daughter: Maryjane Wilkinson (Dale) 2 sisters: Nancy Rials (Lee) and Christine Botts. Grandchildren: Shyla Hunt, Georgeann Garner, Stacie Park and Matthew Park. Great Grandchildren: Chelsea Hunt, Meagan Hunt, Davin Lewis, Marileigh Lewis and Jackson Park. Funeral Services will be held at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 3:00 pm. Friends may visit from 2:00 pm until service time. Interment will be at the Biloxi National Cemetery, Monday, April 3, 2017 at 10:00 am.
