Mary Ann Vlahov Reigles

Mary Ann Reigles passed away peacefully at Cupertino Healthcare & Wellness in Cupertino, CA on Nov. 6, 2015 after a recurring bout with illness. She had moved out to Northern California to be closer to her children back in April of 2015. Mary Ann was born on August 16, 1932 in Biloxi, MS to Grace Hartman Vlahov and Antonio Vlahov, the second child behind the late Mike Vlahov. She is survived by her sister Maureen Rosetti of Biloxi, MS. Married to William (Bill) Duarte, whom she met while he was in the Air Force and stationed at Keesler AFB, they had three children together. Eventually they divorced and she remarried to Robert (Bob) J. Reigles on March 10, 1971. From late 1989 on, they made a life together in Biloxi, MS in their own home in Bay Vista. They had celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary before he passed away on January 4, 1997. She worked at Walmart for 12 years as a door greeter. She is survived by her three children: Anthony (Laura) Duarte of Campbell, CA, David (Emily) Duarte of Torrance, CA, and Gina (Larry) Ino of Santa Clara, CA; as well as four grandchildren: Justin Ino, Ashlee Duarte, Shaun Ino and Courtney Duarte; and her dog Gracie, who she loved with all her heart. She had many family members and friends in Biloxi, MS who loved her and they will surely miss her quick smile and wit as will we here in California. She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her, especially her family. She was one of a kind and a true and honest to God treasure to all. By her wishes, Mary Ann will be cremated and her ashes placed with her beloved husband Bob for all eternity at the Biloxi National Cemetery. There will be a small memorial ceremony at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Biloxi, MS on Thursday, November 19th at 6PM to honor her memory. Services will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church on Friday, January 8, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Friends may visit from 10-11am. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
