Mary Anne Thompson Hinkle, age 84, and a long-time resident of Biloxi, departed this life and descended into Heaven to be with our Lord on Sunday, the 24th day of February, 2013.
Mary was born to James and Mary Donnelly on July 24, 1928, in San Francisco, California. She graduated from St. Paul’s High School and began working in retail sales at JC Penney at the age of 16. She worked there for many years before moving to Biloxi. She was owner and operator of Town & Country Daycare which was located on the corner of Seal and Howard Avenues in Biloxi for several years, and she was well known and loved by many children in the community. She later returned to retail with JC Penney and then Dillard’s until her retirement in 2004.
She was a devout Catholic and a member of Our Lady of Fatima Parish. She was also a member of the People of Praise Charismatic Christian Community for over the past twenty years, and she loved the Lord with all her heart and soul and always praised Him and gave Him all the glory. Her strong faith and enormous trust in the Lord was always constant, never swaying.
She loved to dance and travel, and she was always very generous and giving to others. She was one of the sweetest and kindest people one could ever meet. She was loved by so many, and she will be sorely missed. Her love and memory will remain in our hearts forever.
Mary is survived by her husband, James Hinkle of Biloxi; her beloved son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Janet Thompson of Ocean Springs; three grandsons, Matthew Thompson, Brandon Moss, and Eric Bird; her sisters, Margaret Meyer and Patricia (Fred) Domerofski of San Francisco; her step-children, Nicholas (Renee’) Hinkle-DeGroot, Rene’ (Rodney) Bryce, and Michael Hinkle, all of Michigan; eleven step-grandchildren, two step-great grandchildren, and her loving niece, nephews, and their families.
