Mary Elizabeth "Tut" Pharis Wood

Mary “Tut” Wood was born April 8, 1954 to James Leo “Sonny” and Mary Pharis in Clarksdale, MS. Tut was a great sister to her brothers and sisters. She attended West Tallahatchie Schools in Tutwiler. She married the love of her life, Jimmy Ray Wood. They raised 3 wonderful children, Chris, Jeremy and Shanna. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jim and her father, “Sonny” Pharis. Those left to cherish her memories are her mother, Mary Pharis of Long Beach; her sons, Chris (Tiara) Fondren of Luling, TX, and Jeremy (Kathy) Wood of Watauga, TX; and her daughter, Shanna “Izzy” Wood of Long Beach; her grandchildren, Victoria Riley, Anatasia Riley, Raelynn Wood, Amber, Megan, Camryn and Ciara Fondren; her brothers, Leo (Nita) Pharis of Clarksdale,MS, Matthew (Charlotte) Pharis of Puckett, MS, and Mark (Megan) Pharis of Claremore, OK; her sisters, Sandra Kay Pharis of Long Beach, Hazel “Sissy” Dollar of Diamondhead and April Pharis of Fort Worth, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Her place of internment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Fort Worth, Texas next to her beloved husband Jim. There will be a graveside memorial service on Friday, April 2nd, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Fort worth, TX.
