Mary Zorich Thian

Mrs. Mary Zorich Thian, 88, of Biloxi, MS, died Sunday, July 11, 2010, in Biloxi. Mrs. Thian was a native and lifelong resident of Biloxi and a lifelong member of St. Michael Catholic Church. Her first job was with Kuluz Brothers Sea Food as secretary. She later worked with the telephone company in Biloxi and Charleston, SC during WW II. She was a retired clerk from the the City of Biloxi Tax Collector's office where she served under three mayors. Mrs. Thian was preceded in death by her parents, John and Alena Kuluz Zorich; sister, Eva Mazara and her husband, Walter; two brothers, Matthew "Motto" Taliancich and Greg Taliancich and his wife, Bee; her mother-in-law, Mary Concetta Thian; and her beloved cousin, Frances Kuluz Mattina. Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Steve Thian; two daughters, Dianne (Albert) Ott and Cynthia (Michael) Kennedy; one son, Stephen A. Thian; two grandsons, Albert (Tina) Ott, Jr. and Ed Ott; one great grandson, Evan Ott; one great granddaughter, Morgan Bell; one brother, Steve (Beverly) Zorich; and her sister-in-law, Juanita Taliancich. Mary gave her family the greatest gift; the love of God through her words, novenas and rosary. In lieu of flowers the family prefers that donations be made to the Retired Priest's Homes Fund, Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 2090 Pass Road, Biloxi, MS 39531 A Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church where friends may visit one hour before service time. Interment will follow in Southern Memorial Park. Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue, in Biloxi is in charge of arrangements.
