Chief Master Sergeant Edgar Ray Booth, age 77, passed away peacefully in his Ocean Springs, MS home on February 23, 2021. Chief Booth, as he will always be known, was a decorated 30 year U.S. Air Force Veteran. Throughout his military career he received various awards and decorations to include the Meritorious Service Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, Air Force Commendation Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and U.S. Air Force Excellence in Competition Pistol Badge. During his time in the Air Force, he served as a Mechanic, Instructor, First Sergeant, Senior Enlisted Advisor, and Commandant before retiring in 1991 and continuing his lifetime of public service as a Constable for the State of Mississippi. Born in Huntington, WV, he spent the past 33 years as a resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. He was a graduate of Dixie Hollins High School, St. Petersburg, FL and held an Associate of Arts Degree from the University of the State of New York and an Associate in Applied Science Degree from The Community College of the Air Force. He was an avid car enthusiast who enjoyed owning, restoring, and displaying his treasures at various car shows across the country. At one point, he had amassed over 9 classic cars in his collection. He leaves behind a beloved family and so many others he cherished as family. Chief Booth was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Juanita and brother, Wetzel. Survivors include his loving wife, Gloria, five children, Kevin (Las Vegas, NV), Mark (Dade, City, FL), Kelly (Centerville, GA), Brett (Ocean Springs, MS) and Roy (Homosassa, FL), 11 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and his faithful dog, Buddy. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 22, from 5pm to 7pm, with words of remembrance at 7pm. Graveside service will be at Biloxi National Cemetery, Wednesday, February 23 at 10 am. Bradford-O'Keefe is honored to serve the family of Chief Master Sergeant Edgar Ray Booth.
