Matthew Joseph Meyer

Matthew J. Meyer, 83, passed away at his home in Gulfport, MS on September 12, 2024 and

went to his forever heavenly home with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Matthew Meyer was born on December 6, 1940 in Chicago, IL to Matthew and Augusta (Walters) Meyer.

On February 28, 1965 he was united in marriage to the love of his life Sally Ann Peterson in Fond Du Lac, WI. Matt’s work took him all over the world, he spent lots of time on the road.

Matt had several friends that he met at work that were special to him like Bernie and Diane Bluhm. For the last few years of his life, he would talk to his friend Bernie on the phone for hours. Matt was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and rarely missed a Nascar race. But his absolute pride and joy in life were his seven grandchildren that always made his smile grow and his eyes sparkle with mischief.

Matt will be dearly missed by his wife Sally; children Kristine, Mary Steagall (John) and Steve; his grandchildren Jacob, Mitchell, Matthew, Michelle, Alyssa, Brian and Erin; one great granddaughter Leighton; siblings Mary Collins, Anita Odekirk and William (Mary) Meyer; additionally, many nieces, nephews and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Matthew and Augusta Meyer and brother Ronald (Annette) Meyer.
