Mattie Rose Crain

Mrs. Mattie Rose Crain, age 88, passed away on Friday, March 28, 2025 in Mobile, AL.

Mrs. Crain was born on March 2, 1937 in Washington Parish, LA to Newton Thomas and Lucille Schilling Thomas. She worked in education as a teacher and taught kindergarten for many years. She was a member of Parkway Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents; by her loving husband of 63 years, Billy Eugene Crain; her sister, Sarah Seale; and her brother, Charlie Thomas.

Left to cherish her memory include her son, David (Toni) Crain; daughter, Lisa (Jason) Mason; grandchildren, Daniel, Leslie, Hayley and Raleigh; and sisters, Bronis Thomas, Trulia Kidd, Lynne (Randall) Freeman, Darlene (Bryce) Davis and Wilma Dee (Terry) Miley.

Funeral service will be held at Parkway Baptist Church on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. Friends are invited to visit from 11:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Biloxi National Cemetery.
