Maurice D. Pierce, Jr.

Maurice D. Pierce, Jr., 80 of D'Iberville, died Thursday, December 25, 2008 in D'Iberville. Maurice was a longtime resident of the Gulf Coast. He retired from the Biloxi V.A. Hospital after 32 years and was of the Baptist faith. Maurice is preceded in death by his parents, Maurice Dewey and Ruby Lee Pierce, sister, Hilda Maureen Goff, brother Paul Wade and four grandchildren. Survivors include wife, Wilma Batton Pierce of D'Iberville, daughters, Leah Frances Lizana of Latimer, Linda Lee Davis of Wiggins, Donna Jean Sistrunk of Denham Springs, LA, Amy Darlene Kennedy of D'Iberville and Elizabeth M. Cook of D'Iberville, son, Maurice D. Pierce III of Wiggins, brothers, Bennie Pierce of Floral City, FL, Robert E. Pierce of IL, seventeen grandchildren, thirty-six great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Visitation is Sunday, December 28, 2008 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes, Biloxi. Graveside service will be 9:00 a.m. Monday, December 29, 2008 in the Biloxi National Cemetery.
