Maurveen Lavone Holbrook, age 71, of Biloxi, MS passed away on Tuesday, December 19th, 2023 in Mobile, AL. Maurveen was born January 28, 1952 in Biloxi, MS to Marvin Eugene Holbrook and Sylvia Lavon Evans.

She grew up loving dance and gymnastics. She earned her Bachelor’s from the University of Southern Mississippi. Maurveen was a dedicated Registered Nurse. She also obtained distinctions as Principal Investigator and Risk Management Director for Coastal Family Health Center in Biloxi before retirement. She will be remembered for her vibrant soul and caring heart along with the fun stories she would share.

Maurveen (also known as “Mawmaw”) was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and she will be dearly missed!

She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Sylvia Holbrook; brother-in-law, John Bond; brother, Richard Holbrook; and grandchild, Zachary Thompson.

Her large loving family leads as her legacy. Left to cherish her memory include her sisters, Frances (Earl) Schubert, Geraldine Bond, and Cheryl Holbrook; her daughters, Deanna (Chris) Kelly, Katrina (Jeremy) Ball, and Stephanie Brauchle - Wright; grandchildren: Nicole (Jayson) Pine, Corey Thompson, Katelyn Parks, Alicia Parks, Triston Cox - Wright, Skylar Parks, Jonathan and Brandon Necaise; great-grandchildren: Melanie, Eli, Bradon, Jace, Zane, Kaysen, Sharlene, Laiklynn and Nevaeh; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A celebration of her life occurred on Wednesday, December 19th, 2023 at the family home, her pride & joy in Biloxi, MS.
