Mavis Irene Byrd

Mavis Irene Byrd, 68, of Pass Christian, died Sunday, May 8, 2005 in Pass Christian. She was born July 21, 1936 in Lambert, Ms and was a longtime resident of Long Beach. She was a member of the Gulf Coast Worship Center in Long Beach and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Travis W. Byrd. She is survived by her son, Roy Smith and his wife, Jennifer of Saucier; a sister, Catherine Wearman of Michigan;and one grandchild. The family extends special thanks to Roberta Hillman, Odyssey Hospice and all the Staff at Miramar Lodge. Visitation is Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Orange Grove Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home on O'Neal Road, Gulfport. The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens in Long Beach.
