Maxine Delaune Sablich, 70, a native of Biloxi, died January 5, 2005.
Mrs. Sablich was a supervisory Personnel Specialist over Human Resources at Keesler AFB before retiring after 33 years of service. She was selected as Keesler's Career Woman of the Year. She was a member of Young Matrons Carnival Association since 1969 where she reigned as queen in 1974. She coached girls softball along the coast for 30 years. She started the Presidential Awards Program at Nativity B.V.M. Elementary school where she was P.E. coach for many years. She was owner of Max Video Productions. She was also a member of The Slavic Benevolent Association Ladies Auxiliary, Elks Lodge #606 Ladies Auxiliary and the Golden Age Club. She was a member of Nativity B.V.M. Cathedral.
Mrs. Sablich was preceded in death by her parents Louis and Lollie Delaune. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Vernon"T-boy" Sablich, daughters, Karen Gladney and husband Dean of Ocean Springs, Patti Meaut and husband Wally of Woolmarket, sons, Craig Sablich and fiance Janea of Mandeville, LA, and Joe Sablich and wife Kim of Jacksonville, Fl., sister, Patsy Huffaker of Lake Charles, LA, 8 grandchildren, Carly, Kelly, and Casey Gladney, Kristi Meaut Gilbert and husband Nick, Keith and Candace Meaut, Brooke Sablich and Savanah Sablich, 1 great-grandson Nicholas Brent Gilbert and a soon to be born great-granddaughter Makenziee Claire Gilbert, She is also survived by her pet Yorkie, "Boomer".
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 9, 2005 with Recitation of the Rosary at 6:30 at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Ave. Chapel, Biloxi, MS.
Mass of Christian Burial will be January 10, 2005 10:00 a.m. at Nativity B.V.M. Cathedral in Biloxi, MS with burial following at Southern Memorial Park.
Maxine's family would like to give special thanks to her friends Patsy Smolcich and Frances Creel. Also, Dr. Todd Moore and his staff.
