Maxine Mae Hare DeQuin, Age 86, a previous resident of Saucier, MS, left this world to meet her Lord and Savior on Wednesday Afternoon, September 16, 2009, after a long illness.
She was preceeded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Dr. Eugene E. DeQuin, D.C.; her parents, Robert Deemer Hare and Beulah Yates Hare; her brother, Robert Yates Hare; her In- Laws, Henry C. DeQuin and Reta Post; Sister-In-Law, Joan Clark; Nephew, Jeffrey Clark; Son-In-Law, Edward Forbes.
"Maxine" or "Red", as she was affectionally called by her friends, arrived in Mississippi with her husband, Doc DeQuin,
where they opened their Chiropractic Office and set up housekeeping.
Maxine was a down to earth loving woman. She was a Registered Nurse, Chiropractic Assistant, member of the Business and Professional Womens' Club, Daughters of the Nile, White Shrine of Jerusalem, Coast Chapter 51, Order of the Eastern Star, Past Worthy Matron of Lewis Cass Chaper 419, Order of The Eastern Star in Detroit, Michigan, She was also a Past Grand Officer of Michigan Order of Eastern Star and Editor of the Grand Chapter Monthly Newsletter in the l950's and early 1960's. She was also a Professional Model.
Maxine loved to shop and her favorite purchases were hats and shoes, although nothing escaped her if it was a bargin.
Her grandchildren and great-granchildren were the light of her life.
Maxine is survived by her two daughters, Diana Forbes (Edward, deceased), Donna Breedlove (Paul David); grandchildren, Bobbi Forbes, Aaron Forbes, Jonathan Breedlove, Tammy Breedlove; great grandchildren, Amber Forbes, DeVaughan Edward Forbes Wilson, Alivia Nichole Simmons Forbes, Destiny Marie Forbes, Daisia Renee Forbes, Andrew McCain,Jr., Tiffany McCain, Jolin Breedlove; Brother-In-Law, Rev. Henry C. DeQuin (Alberta); Also, survived by special nieces and nephews; Special adopted daughters, Mary English and Vicky Harlan, who cared for our mother like she was their own.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 21, 2009, at 12:30 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 1726 15th Street, Gulfport. Visitation is one hour before service time. Interment will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery.
