Maxine Smith

Mrs. Maxine Smith, age 82, of Gulfport, died Thursday July 24, 2008 in Union, MS Mrs. Smith was a long time resident of the Gulf Coast. She was a member of Fernwood Baptist Church for over twenty years and also spent ten years of service as a Senior Companion. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband; Rev. Vernon Smith; her parents, Mack L. and Alice L Jones Montgomery; her brother, James Montgomery; and her sister, Edith Cuevas. She is survived by her three sons; Larry Don Smith and his wife Linda of Union, MS, Keith Lynn Smith and his wife Deborah of Brooklyn, MS, and Jerry Wayne Smith and his wife Tina of Vancleave, MS. She is also survived by a special niece, Sheila Tillman, seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held Sunday evening July 27, 2008 from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home on O'Neal Rd in Gulfport. The funeral service will be held at 11:00A.M. on Monday July 28, 2008 at Steep Hollow Baptist Church, Hwy 603 in Pearl River County where friends may call one hour prior.
