Mellie Virginia Buford-Ellzey

Mrs. Mellie Virginia Buford- Ellzey, 64, of Biloxi, MS, died Monday, October 23, 2006, in Biloxi. Mrs. Buford-Ellzey was born April 23, 1942 in Alcorn, MS and had been a resident of Biloxi for the past 35 years. She was a licensed beautician for the past 36 years. Mrs. Buford-Ellzey was preceded in death by her husband, J. Buford and her father, Jack Ford. Survivors include her longtime companion of 35 years, Mr. Joseph Eugene Ellzey, Jr.; her mother, Mrs. Nell Ford Day; a sister, Jacqueline Gill Kaiser; two daughters, Jennifer Woodward and Terri Herrick; seven grandchildren, Nicole Pfeffer, Robert Woodward, Ray Woodward, Sara Woodward, Ricky Woodward, Matthew Herrick, and Zackery Herrick; one great grandchild, Taylor Brooke Pfeffer; three nieces, three grand nieces and two grand nephews. She will be sadly missed by her relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be Friday, October 27, 2006, at 11 a.m. at St. Marks Episcopal Church in Gulfport where friends may visit from 9 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow in Biloxi City Cemetery. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi is in charge of arrangements.
