Melvin Anthony Hornback, 79, of Ocean Springs passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2007.
Mr. Hornback has lived on the coast since 1961. He retired from the United States Air Force in 1974 and had worked for Ingalls since 1976. He is a Catholic, a member of Knights of Columbus Council 5654, Ocean Springs Elks lodge 2501, the V.F.W. and a past Exalted Ruler of Ocean Springs Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Brigitte "Kitty" Hornback; his parents, Edward and Augusta Hornback; sister, Arlene Wessendorf and brother, Clarence Hornback.
Survivors include his wife, Inge Hornback; his son, Edward J. "Eddie" Hornback of Liberty, MO; sister, Vera Giwer of Cincinnati, OH; his granddaughter, Michelle Hornback McCollough and great-granddaughter, Emma Kate McCollough both of Prattville, AL.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m on Sunday, January 28, 2007 at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes. An ELK's service will be held at 6:30 p.m. followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 29, 2007 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, where friends may visit one hour prior to service. Burial to follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park.
