Michael Lee Mathers, Jr.

Michael Lee Mathers, Jr., age 37, of Ocean Springs, MS passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at his home.

He was born January 21, 1986 in Slidell, LA. Mike owned Mathers Construction Company and specialized in underground utilities. He was a passionate fan and follower of the University of Alabama Sports Programs and playing rounds of cornhole at the condos with friends. Mike was a native of Nashville, TN and a longtime resident of Ocean Springs, MS.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Jerry Myers of Silver Creek, MS.

He is survived by his wife, Madeline Joy Johnson of Ocean Springs; his daughter, Jailynn Norris of Lucedale, who he referred to often as his Queen and Princess, respectfully; his maternal grandmother, Camille Myers, AKA “Big Nana,” of Silver Creek, MS; paternal grandmother, Margie (and Glen) Teel of Biloxi, MS; mother, Lynn Myers, of D’Iberville; and father, Mike Mathers, Sr., of Ocean Springs. He had two cats, Piper and Rainbeaux.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at 1:00 pm at the Oak Glen Marina Clubhouse, 3230 Cumberland Rd, Ocean Springs, Mississippi.  A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 1:30 pm with Ron Prewitt presiding.
