Michael Al Sanders

Mr. Michael Al Sanders, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Thursday, November 7, 2019. Michael was born on June 19, 1956 in Phoenix City, Alabama. He was raised in the state of Georgia and lived in North Carolina before residing in Mississippi. He worked at Ingalls Shipbuilding since 2003 as a Designer 4 working in the Design Engineering Outfitting and Foundations Group. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas D. Sanders and Delphia Z. Sanders. He will be remembered by his wife, Edith (Edee) Saucier Sanders; children, Jacob (Tina) Sanders of Bluffton, South Carolina; Ashley Sanders of Atlanta, Georgia; Selana Sanders of Vancleave, Mississippi; stepsons, Steven (Megan) Saucier of Caldonia, Michigan and Trevor (Moriah) Saucier of Wiggins, Mississippi; his brother, Phillip (Linda) Sanders of Lenoir City, Tennessee; his sister, Kelly (William) Knapp of Daphne, Alabama; his uncle, James (Gay) Sanders of Albany, Georgia; his aunt, Melanie Johnson of Wellington, Florida and many nephews, nieces,cousins and friends. Michael was a devoted and faithful husband, a loving father and best friend. He loved God, family, his friends and was a proud American. He had a strong work ethic and took pride in his work. Michael was honored with the Huntington Ingalls Apprenticeship of the Year Award in 2007. He was also just recently awarded the TAP award. He enjoyed history, especially World War II and the Civil War History. Also, he loved to watch old western movies. Michael will be greatly missed by many. This world was a better place when he was in it. Visitation will be on Monday, November 11, from 10am until 11am, with an 11am Memorial Service, all at the Vancleave Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. Services will be conducted by Greg Clark and his uncle, James Sanders. In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations be made to the Shriners Childrens Hospital.
