Mr. Michael Arthur Savage, age 49, of Vancleave, MS., passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2005, in Pascagoula, MS., of a heart attack.
Mike was born on December 11, 1956, in Pascagoula, MS. He was a lifelong resident of Jackson County. He was a 1975 graduate of Pascagoula High School and attended both MGCCC and the University of Southern Mississippi. During his school years he was involved with the Boy Scouts, Little Theater and flying. Mike worked as a diesel mechanic, Hydrographic and land surveyor, was a finished carpenter and worked in construction. He loved to hunt and fish and considered Vancleave his home. He was of the Methodist faith.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Arthur Savage, Jr. and his grandparents, Alf and Bonita Stokes Dickson and Joe and Hazel Watson Savage.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Emily Dickson Savage Bond and Earl K. Bond, of Vancleave, son, Joseph Daniel Savage of North Carolina, daughter, Laura Nicole Savage of Vancleave, sisters, Sandy Turner of Columbus, GA., Katie Savage of Jackson, MS., and Kristen Savage of Carey, N.C., grandsons, Wesley and Cody Savage of Ocean Springs, and stepdaughters, Kristal Cromer and Sara Seymour, both of Vancleave.
On Monday, December 19, 2005, there will be a 1:30 PM graveside service at Crestlawn Memorial Park in Ocean Springs.
The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
