Michael W. "Bean" Brackin, age 61, of Gulfport, died Monday, April 7, 2008, in Gulfport.
Mike was born in Dothan, AL and had been a resident of the Gulf Coast for 35 years. He owned Gulf Produce for many years, before deciding to do what he truly loved, fishing. He was a fishing guide for over 16 years up until his untimely death. He truly loved his job because he loved to be around people having a good time.
He was loved by many and touched so many lives. He will be missed by all who were blessed to know him.
Mike was an active member of First Baptist Church of Biloxi. He participated in the Men's Ministry and was truly passionate about serving in the Second Mile Ministry. Mike's desire would be for any memorials in his name to be directed to : Second Mile Ministry, C/O First Baptist Church, Biloxi, 1560 Popps Ferry Road, Biloxi, MS 39532.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wilton E. Brackin.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanne Brackin of Gulfport; daughters, Patricia Michelle Horvath and husband, Greg of Germany, and Ashley Ann Seymer and husband, Archie of Biloxi; sons, Michael David Brackin of Summerdale, AL and Michael Anthony Brackin and wife, Bonnie of Fairhope, AL; his mother, Alice Brackin of Jacksonville, FL; sisters, Ange' Brackin and Karen Murphy, both of Jacksonville, FL, Alexa Brackin of Foley, AL and Marlene Brackin of Pensacola, FL; a brother, Kenny Brackin of Foley, Al; and four grandchildren, Jonathan and Caleb Horvath, Camellia Brackin and Wyatt Brackin.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 11, 2008 from 5 until 8 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, O'Neal Road, Gulfport. The service will be Saturday, April 12, 2008 at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Biloxi where friends may visit from 1:00 p.m. until the service.
