Michael Henry Zorich

Michael Henry Zorich, age 52, went home to be with Jesus early Monday morning, July 19, 2021. Michael was a lifelong resident of Biloxi, MS. He grew up on Point Cadet or “The Point “as it is fondly called. He graduated from Mercy Cross High School and was a proud member of the Class of ‘86. He began work at 16 at a neighborhood Piggly Wiggly grocery store and found his calling. He progressed in his career, working his way up to the position of store manager. Over the years, as the grocery business evolved and consolidated, he was the manager of several stores. He enjoyed working with the public because it allowed him to meet people and become lifetime friends with his customers and co-workers. Michael was a member of Nativity Parish where he previously served on the parish council and was a Eucharistic Minister. He was a member of the Slavic Benevolent Association of St. Nikolai. He is preceded in death by his brother, Steve J. Zorich Jr.; his father, Steve J. Zorich, Sr.; and his grandparents, John and Lena Zorich and Neil H. and Hilda McAllister. Michael is survived by his wife of 27 years, Ellen Zorich; his daughters, Elizabeth and Nicole; his mother, Beverly J. Zorich of Biloxi, MS; his siblings, Stephanie (Jack) Cox of Dothan, AL, Joy (George) McAllister of Ocean Springs, MS, John (Brenda) Zorich of Biloxi, MS and Daphne Zorich of Tyler, Tx; countless nephews, nieces, family, and friends. His family would like to sincerely thank Dr. Allison Wall and Brittany Hicks, NP with Memorial Hospital who offered exceptional care and support during his illness. They would also like to thank the nurses, especially Lori, and staff with Deaconess Homecare who helped provide constant comfort during Michael’s month in hospice. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, July 22, 2021, at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cathedral on Howard Avenue in Biloxi. Visitation for friends and family will begin at 9:00 a.m. with the Mass to follow at 10:00 a.m. A private burial with immediate family will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate your charitable donations be directed to the Nativity BVM Cathedral - St. Vincent De Paul Society 870 Howard Avenue, Biloxi, MS 39530.
