Michelle Scott

Mrs. Michelle Scott, 53, of Biloxi, MS passed away Monday, January 2, 2023. Michelle was born to Curtis and Ella Dee Oglesby in Grenada, MS on July 16, 1969.

She spent her childhood in North MS. After graduating from Arapahoe High School in Denver, CO, she went on to attend Blue Mountain Christian University in Blue Mountain, MS. After receiving her degree, she began her teaching career in Holly Springs, MS. The majority of her career was spent in Biloxi Public Schools until she retired in 2020. Michelle’s favorite place to be was by a pool or at the beach and she loved being a nana to her three granddaughters. 

She is preceded in death by her father, Curtis Oglesby; paternal grandparents, Milton Curtis and Alma Lee Oglesby; and maternal grandparents, William and Jewell Cummings.

Survivors include her husband, Van Scott; daughters Jessica Scott and Heaven (Travis) Toothman; sons, Joshua Scott and Jacob Scott; mother, Dee Oglesby; brother, Michael Oglesby; and aunt, Janice Oglesby.

A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 12 pm. Interment will be at Biloxi National Cemetery at a later date. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Michelle Scott.
