Miguel Anthony Lawrence III

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Miguel Lawrence III, a beloved son, father, brother, and friend from St. Martin, Mississippi, who departed from this world on October 3, 2023. Miguel was a remarkable individual whose presence touched the lives of many.

Born on March 29, 1978, in Biloxi, Mississippi, Miguel was a beacon of kindness and positivity in his community. He was known for his infectious smile, warm-hearted nature, and an unwavering willingness to help those in need. Throughout his life, Miguel demonstrated a deep sense of empathy and compassion that endeared him to everyone he encountered.

Miguel was a dedicated worker who contributed to his community in meaningful ways. He spent his last few years working at Waring Oil, where he was respected by colleagues for his strong work ethic and dedication to his job. His commitment to his work was a testament to his reliability and dependability.

Outside of his professional life, Miguel continued to be an active advocate for charitable causes in his hometown of St. Martin, Mississippi. He volunteered his time coaching and serving on the boards over the years with the St. Martin Dixie Youth Baseball League, St. Martin Youth Football League, and the St. Martin Diamond Club as well as always supporting St. Martin Athletics, leaving a lasting impact on those he sought to assist. His dedication to making a positive difference in his community was a reflection of his character and values.

Miguel was preceded in death by his grandfather, Miguel Lawrence Sr., Carlisle Abel, Joetta Abel, Shannon Abel, and Gary Mitchell. 

Miguel is survived by his loving family, including his grandmother, Patsy Lawrence; his parents, Miguel Lawrence Jr. and Tamara “Tammy” Lawrence; his sibling, Tara Lawrence Mitchell; niece, Madison Mitchell; wife, Rachel Lawrence; and two sons, Jorden and Caleb. He will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In honoring Miguel Lawrence’s memory, let us remember his enduring legacy of kindness, generosity, and his dedication to both his community and his family. His spirit will continue to inspire us to be better, to give more, and to cherish the moments we have with our loved ones in the community he held dear.

A memorial service to celebrate Miguel’s life will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, October 9, 2023 at Bradford O’Keefe in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. Friends may visit from 11:00am until service time.
