Mildred Kay Sylvia, 53, of Gulfport, died Thursday, May 18, 2006, in Gulfport. Mrs. Sylvia was born October 16, 1952 in Dennis, MS and had been a resident of the Gulf Coast about 30 Years. She was bookkeeper for Food Giant on Highway 49. She was a member of O'Neal Road Baptist Church and the Southern Mississippi Baptist Association.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruby Alice Roberts and father, Buford Erastus Wooten; granddaughter, Kaycee Sylvia; and a sister, Rebecca Wooten.
She is survivied by her husband, Frank J. Sylvia, Sr. of Gulfport; three daughters, Andrea Vance and her husband, David, of Saucier, Anna Sylvia and her companion, Ronnie Cuevas, Amanda Ducksworth and her husband, Kenyon, all of Gulfport; a son, Frank Sylvia, Jr. and his wife, Ariel, of Ocala, FL; two brothers, Buford Wooten of Saucier, Phillip Wooten of Texas; step-father, Harold Roberts of Dennis; her father-in-law, Leonard Sylvia, Jr. of Gulfport; a sister-in-law, Sharon Schneider, of St. Martin; her aunt, Lou Gottlich of Gulfport; a special friend, Pearlina Neal; and seven grandchildren, Charles Sylvia, Rebecca Cuevas, Sarah Cuevas, Toni Sylvia, Kayla Cuevas, Rayne Roch, and Jaylah Ducksworth.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 20, 2006 from 5 until 8 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral, O'Neal Road, Gulfport.
There will be a visitation Sunday May 21, 2006 from 5 until 8 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home in Belmont, MS with the funeral service on Monday at 2 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Lindsey Cemetery in Dennis.
